Poster for The Sandman
Sometimes, going into an adapted show knowing as little as possible could be the best thing. When one knows a source material by heart, the tendency is to use it as a measuring stick for any adaptation of that very material. This is to say that I really had a great time watching “The Sandman” as it is — a television show, not a text that pretends to be one. It isn’t perfect but, frankly, I don’t really mind it. And the most important thing: Tom Sturridge’s Dream and Boyd Holbrook’s The Corinthian are freakishly hot. Now that is the dream.
