The best sci-fi I have seen in a while, a beautiful but a times really brutal show, the characters and their individual journeys were each fantastic, the animation and the design of the planet was amazing, such a great show, I hope there’s a season 2 with maybe a new lot of survivors, but I’d also be satisfied with just this season

FUCK.... WE'VE GOT AN ALL-TIMER RIGHT HERE!!!!!!! Scavengers Reign: Where all the beloved types of horror such as the fear of the unknown, fear of the cosmos, fear of nature, and fear of being compressed by a fucked up plant all coincide in this sci-fi adventure that pushes the boundaries of the medium of animation by not being a stupid fucking comedy. I've been following this since the announcement made back in June 2022. Maybe twice a month I'd do a search for this show and see if any more news had been published. I feared that maybe it would get cancelled under Zaslav's reign ( ;D) but after reading that not only that it'd premiere an episode at Annecy, but that that episode (The Wall) went on to win the Second Jury Award, let's just say that my fear had been quashed, and my hype had become immeasurable. Essentially, my entire life had been building up to the 19th of October, 2023. Well... not really, but it made living a lot easier knowing that the one show I couldn't stop thinking about was actually coming out. THIS IS PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING I EXPECTED, EVERYTHING I WANTED, EVERYTHING I NEEDED, AND SO SO SO MUCH MORE. One of the few things in life that I would call perfect. I don't have much to say to be quite honest, but I do need everyone in my life, and everyone who follows me on here to watch this. We may not get anything like this ever again if it doesn't do big streaming figures. *THAT* scene in the final episode actually made my jaw drop. It was overwhelming, to the point that I honestly had a tear or two roll down my cheek. It wasn't even necessarily sad, just... a LOT to take in. Stunning Moebius-esque environments lovingly crafted by the best artists in the world. If you're looking for more of this type of stuff, please check out Aeon Flux, Arzak Rhapsody, and (especially) Dragon's Heaven. We are experiencing a renaissance of animated series for adults, and I pray that this show succeeds so that we get more auteur driven animation and science fiction in general. Let Alex Garland Run Amok In The Titmouse Office!!!

Pretty cool and unique show. Enjoyed the second half more than the first, enough to raise my rating to 4 stars. I think the pacing and plot structure is where it fell a bit short for me in the first half, but I didn’t find that too much of an issue by the end. The strongest aspect to me was the stunning visuals this show produced. I viewed most of it with LED sync lights behind my television and it was an amazing watching experience, it really showcased how effective the use of colours were in creating the setting of the planet. I would definitely like a Season 2. While the season did end quite well, I think there is even more for it to explore if it continues. I don’t know if this show would appeal to everyone, which I can understand, but I believe it’s worth checking out if you’re into the sci-fi/horror genre and a fan of animated series. Best episode: 1x12 ‘The Reunion’ (4.5/5) Best Character: Levi 🤖
