Really loved this. Probably the best execution of the “autistic detective” trope I’ve ever seen. Well thought out and engaging locked room mysteries, the highlight being the third episode. The relationship between Jonathan and Maddie is fun and unique, with Maddie being a perfect foil. Only real issues are to do with pacing. Sometimes the mysteries don’t begin until a quarter of the way through the episode. Really great stuff otherwise though.

Strongest season yet. The mysteries here become more supernatural in nature. How did a man survive taking a bullet? How did a corpse climb a staircase? How did this UFO vanish in plain sight? And all have explanations grounded in reality. The Jonathan/Maddie dynamic is as fun as it always is.

Classic second season level up. The will they/won’t they dynamic between Jonathan and Maddy is further fleshed out but never distracts from the mystery of the week, all of which are as clever and entertaining as ever. Not every week is a murder, one of the best this season is the second episode, where the pair investigate how a man can be in two places at once, which is a refreshing change of pace. There’s also a stronger reliance on comedy this series, and it marries better with the material than previously. The Christmas special, Black Canary, is the most exciting mystery yet. Pumped to watch the rest!
