Okay this rating may be a bit harsh but I didn't really like this show. I watched Buffy many years ago and last year I decided to give the Angel spinoff a try (perfect excuse to rewatch Buffy) because I heard season 5 was one of the best of the verse and I wanted to see the continuation of Angel, Spike and Cordelia's journeys. The tone of the show is darker and his story is way more supernatural than Buffy's. Thats not something I dislike but there were moments where they crossed limits specially in seasons 3 and 4. Then I don't know if its only me but this show looked BAD, I mean the quality, the cinematography the sets, it all looked a lot worse than in Buffy, maybe thats where all the budget went idk. The cast is decent and the dialogue is good too except in some episodes, it can be goofy and cringe at times but thats a thing of the verse. One thing this writers know how to do well is to entertain, the eps are usually enjoyable despite some of them being terrible, at least in seasons 1,2 and ofc 5. Seasons 3 and 4 are some of the worst television I've ever seen and thats were this show lost itself. If it weren't for those two seasons I'd have the show at least at 4 stars. But sadly they exist and what they did to Cordelia is something I still can not explain. Connor is the worst tv character oat and the story and plot was the biggest mess of the century. They fixed many things in s5 and saved Cordy's character a bit but what they made me go through in those 2 seasons I'd never wish it to my worst enemy. Hate to say it but overall this is the worst show I rated to this date (obviously I have seen way worse but I don't bother to rate them all). I appreciate some things and I really liked the last season but at least now I've finished with the whole Buffyverse. I hope they don't make that new show they are talking about. Btw I wrote this review yesterday and today Michelle Tratchenberg (Dawn) passed away.
